Mizuno are excited to announce the signing of Australian Paralympic Athlete – Vanessa Low. Vanessa is one of one of the worlds most accomplished athletes having represented both Germany and Australia across 3 paralympic games.

She is a gold and silver Paralympic medallist, six-time world champion and world record holder in the women’s long jump T61.

Competing for Germany at the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games Vanessa won her first gold in the T42 long jump and silver in the 100m T42 event. At the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic games competing for Australia, Vanessa defended her T42 title by winning gold once again.

Vanessa was born and raised in Germany and grew up loving sport. She lost both her legs in a tragic train accident at the age of 15 and spent six months in hospital. Determined to reach beyond perceived present limitations only two years later she was competing on the world stage.

Mizuno Oceania Corporation Director of Sales & Marketing Shane Holub is delighted with the signing, saying; "We are really excited to welcome Vanessa to our growing group of athletes. She is not only one of Australia’s but the worlds most decorated athletes with an incredible story of resilience and perseverance which has lead to her success. Vanessa not only aligns with Mizuno’s values but also perfectly ties into our long-standing partnership with the Australian Paralympic team. We look forward to supporting Vanessa in the lead up to and during the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.”

Off the training track Vanessa has an affiliation with iconic sports apparel brand JAGGAD who recently launched a collaboration sport style range with Mizuno earlier this year. She is married to Australian Paralympic gold medallist Scott Reardon who have a one year old son Matteo.

Vanessa will be a big part of Mizuno’s product launches and a future global campaign released in 2024.
