A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE

CARBON NEUTRAL BY 2050

At Mizuno we believe in a sustainable future in which all people are able to live equally on a safe and healthy planet. With respect to the dignity of all people, we endeavour to continually nurture a beneficial future for everyone. A future where sports can be enjoyed anytime, anywhere and without reservation.

To contribute to protecting our planet earth, the stage on which we play sports, we will be integrating innovations in both our products and services. Innovations based on science, inspired by nature and for the benefit of society. Together we endeavour to ensure a future in which people are able to cultivate a healthy mind and body through sports.

ENVIRONMENTAL TARGET

At Mizuno we want to protect the global environment to ensure people can continually enjoy sports. Our target is to become carbon neutral by 2050.

MIZUNO CREW 21

At Mizuno we recognise that all corporate business activities affect the environment. In September 1991, we launched the 'Crew 21 Project', with the aim of contributing to the preservation of the global environment.

From 2021, all our Mizuno Global Sustainability activities will now be described as "MIZUNO CREW 21". As we are all members of the "crew of the spaceship earth". We will continually contribute to social, economical and environmental sustainability, as well as the fulfilment of our relevant activities.

TREADLIGHTLY

We are a proud partner of Treadlightly, a national recycling program that takes unwanted sport and active lifestyle footwear and responsibly recycles it to give it new life.

Participation in this initiative is part of our commitment to take accountability for footwear waste in Australia. Treadlightly is an industry-led program empowering brands, retailers and consumers to save footwear from landfill. 110 million shoes make their way to Australia each year, 1/4 of these are sport shoes - it can take up to 1000 years for a sport shoe to decompose. Treadlightly exists to solve this problem.

How it works: Take your pre-loved footwear to one of the 400+ national collection sites where they will be sorted and extracted responsibly to be then given new life in products such as gym mats, flooring for retail stores and playgrounds.

Tradlightly's goal is to collect over one million pairs of footwear from Australians to recycle by 2023. Together we can step up for the planet.

100% RECYCLED SHOE BOX

From January 2022 all new season's product will now arrive in a 100% recycled shoebox(previously 80%) and the shoebox itself will also be recyclable. This switch will be applied to all categories of Mizuno shoes worldwide and is expected toreduce CO2 emissionsby 160 tons per year compared to conventional shoe boxes.
