OSAKA, JAPAN – (July 4th, 2022) – Mizuno have revealed the new S.S. Lazio home and away kits for the 2022-2023 season, marking the official start of their partnership between the Italian club and the Japanese brand.

Both parties recently sealed a multi-year deal to supply the Italian club’s football kits. In celebration of the new partnership, Mizuno and Lazio collaborated on the design of the new season jerseys that respects the tradition and values of the club.

The classic sky blue home jersey features the club’s iconic eagle, Olimpia, with a clean and timeless embossed repeat graphic running diagonally on the front of the jersey. The shirt, along with Mizuno’s logo on the sleeves and on the front, is finished with the club’s crest on the top left.

The away jersey is an all-black kit accented with ocean blue trim. It features an abstract multi-colour club graphic print which symbolises “Olimpia“ in full flight during a night game at Stadio Olimpico.

“Olimpia is very symbolic to S.S. Lazio,” said Mizuno’s Head of Global Marketing, Mark Kaiway: “We integrated it into the design of the jersey to inspire courage and pride in the players and fans who wear it. Talking about pride, the same counts for all of us at Mizuno. The partnership with S.S. Lazio marks our comeback in Serie A and we look forward to contributing to the success of the club, and to bringing high quality products to the team and the fans. Exactly in line with the Japanese ‘Kaizen’ philosophy; the continuous drive for improvement.”

Lazio president Claudio Lotito shares the same enthusiasm for the new partnership: “Together with Mizuno, we want to open a great season of success: it is a highly recognizable brand, which I am sure will be able to accompany Lazio's desire for victories well, enhancing the club's symbol and colors in an innovative way. Let's start together with great goals."

The new season’s jerseys are manufactured from breathable and 100% recycled polyester. This is a concerted effort from both parties to demonstrate their commitment to sustainability. But that’s not all. Mizuno is continually striving to reduce its environmental impact with the use of high performance and eco-friendly materials in the manufacturing process. This will be a regular component of future jerseys and products for this partnership.

The first kits worn by S.S. Lazio players at the official kit presentation are now auctioned on eBay and the proceeds will be donated to the “Elemosineria del Santo Padre”, in the person of Cardinal Konrad Krajewski, for the reconstruction of a pediatric oncology ward in Ukraine. The authenticity of the jersey is certified by a commemorative patch that is applied on the collar.

The new Lazio kits are now exclusively available in the Lazio club stores and online shop, and through a selective list of local retailers across Europe. In Australia the Lazio kits will be available later in the year directly from Mizuno Australia’s online store mizuno.com.au as well as at select football retailers.
