SINEAD DIVER – CHAMPION MARATHONER / MOTHER OF TWO / OFF TO CHINA FOR WORLD MARATHON CHAMPS!! July 17, 2015 – Posted in: Latest News
Sinead Diver is believe it or not an accidental runner, she only started 4 years ago – discovered she had talent – and has now been selected to represent Australia in this year’s athletics world championships in China.
She was ranked third fastest female marathon runner in Australia last year; she won the national half marathon championships in 2012 and came second in the 2012 and 2014 national cross country races.
She recorded a time of 2 hours 34 minutes and 15 seconds in her debut marathon at the Melbourne Marathon, last October.
Sinead is a member of the Crosbie Crew and the South Melbourne Athletic Club. She is a mother of two and loves spending time with family and friends. She is a coffee fiend and her shoe of choice for her long runs is the Wave Rider.
She says her world championship selection is an “unbelievable opportunity” and something that she would never have imagined a few years ago. Her ultimate goal would be to run the marathon at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
